Piercing Procedures

Our piercing process typically involves a consultation/anatomy check, choosing your jewelry, paper work, marking the area, and then the piercing itself. Our experienced piercers will guide you through each step to ensure a comfortable and safe experience.
Our piercing process typically involves a consultation/anatomy check, choosing your jewelry, paper work, marking the area, and then the piercing itself. Our experienced piercers will guide you through each step to ensure a comfortable and safe experience.
An anatomy check is a thorough examination of the piercing area to ensure that you have the necessary anatomy for a specific piercing. For example, some piercings require a certain amount of fat or muscle mass to ensure proper healing, like navel piercing.
The piercing process typically takes around 15-30 minutes, depending on the type of piercing and the individual’s comfort level.
We do not recommend getting pierced or tattooed while pregnant. It’s important to prioritize your health and the health of your unborn baby during this time. Additionally, some piercing and tattooing procedures may not be safe for pregnant women, as they can potentially cause complications or harm to the baby. We recommend consulting with your doctor or healthcare provider before getting pierced or tattooed and waiting until after pregnancy to ensure the best possible outcome for both you and your baby.

We accept cash, credit cards, debit cards, digital wallets.

Tipping is not required, but it is appreciated. Our piercers and tattoo artists work hard to provide you with a high-quality experience, and a tip is a way to show your appreciation for their skill and service. If you feel that your piercer or tattoo artist has gone above and beyond to provide you with an exceptional experience, a tip of 15% to 20% of the total cost of the service is considered standard. However, tipping is always optional and should be based on your satisfaction with the service.

Body Jewelry Quality & APP Standards

We accept cash, credit cards, debit cards, digital wallets.

No. The Association of Professional Piercers (APP) does not formally certify individual pieces of jewelry or license piercers. Instead, they grant membership to studios and piercers who voluntarily agree to use materials that meet strict medical and safety standards.

Jewelry that aligns with APP standards focuses heavily on biocompatibility (body safety) and manufacturing precision. It eliminates “mystery metals,” requires a flawless mirror finish to prevent bacterial growth, and utilizes designs that won’t damage healing skin tissue during insertion.

The APP only permits materials proven to be safe for long-term internal wear. The most common

high-quality materials include:

  • Implant-Grade Titanium (specifically ASTM F-136 or ISO 5832-3)
  • Implant-Grade Steel (specifically ASTM F-138 or ISO 5832-1)
  • Solid Gold (14-karat or higher, completely nickel- and cadmium-free)
  • Note: Gold-plated, gold-filled, and generic “surgical steel” are strictly banned for initial piercings.

Cheap jewelry often uses external threading, where the sharp screw threads are on the outside of the post, scraping your skin as it goes in. APP standards require internally threaded or threadless (press-fit) jewelry, meaning the post is completely smooth to protect your tissue from tearing.

Reputable manufacturers provide mill certificates, which are official foundry documents tracking the exact chemical purity of the metal batch. Additionally, top-tier brands participate in the APP’s Body Jewelry Verification Program (BJVP), which independently audits their supply chains for safety compliance.

Permanent Makeup

We accept cash, credit cards, debit cards, digital wallets.

Permanent makeup (also called cosmetic tattooing or micropigmentation) is a specialized procedure where safe pigments are implanted into the upper layer of the dermis. It mimics the appearance of daily cosmetics like brow pencils, eyeliner, or lipstick.

Not completely. Unlike traditional body tattoos, cosmetic pigments are designed to break down over time so they fade naturally as your face ages. Because of this, it is considered semi-permanent and usually requires minor color touch-ups every 1 to 5 years, depending on the area treated and your skin type.

  • Time Savings: It eliminates the daily 10-to-20-minute routine of drawing on brows, eyeliner, or lip color.
  • Smudge-Proof: The results are completely waterproof and sweat-proof, making it ideal for active lifestyles, swimming, and humid weather.
  • Cost-Efficient: It significantly cuts down your annual spending on high-end cosmetics like brow gels, waterproof liners, and lip stains.
  • Unevenness: It fixes asymmetrical brows or uneven lip borders.
  • Thinning Hair & Eyelashes: Microblading fills in sparse brows, while a “lash enhancement” tattoo inserts tiny dots of color into the lash line to make eyelashes look naturally thicker.
  • Faded Color: “Lip blushing” restores the youthful color, definition, and natural tint that lips lose over time.

Yes, for many people it is a life-changing solution rather than just a cosmetic choice:

  • Motor & Visual Impairments: It gives daily independence to individuals with arthritis, tremors, Parkinson’s, or severe vision loss who struggle to apply precise makeup
  • Hair Loss: It completely restores the appearance of natural-looking brows for individuals with Alopecia, trichotillomania, or those who have undergone chemotherapy

Children's Ear Piercings

We accept cash, credit cards, debit cards, digital wallets.

Our minimum age for earlobe piercings is 5 years old. Master Pierce strictly chooses not to pierce infants or toddlers for physical, safety, and ethical reasons. We believe piercing is a personal decision, and the child should be old enough to clearly ask for it, give informed consent, and understand basic responsibility.

For children ages 5 to 8, we require a free consultation before booking a piercing. This allows our team to build trust with your child, explain the process step-by-step in an age-appropriate way, and evaluate their comfort and emotional readiness. Same-day piercings are completely at the piercer’s professional discretion. If your child cannot successfully complete the procedure within our strict 30-minute window, we will schedule a new date to protect their well-being.

To comply with the Florida Department of Health legal protocols for piercing minors, a parent or legal guardian must accompany the child, stay inside the room during the piercing (for ages under 17), and provide:

  • For the Parent/Guardian: A valid, unexpired government-issued photo ID. Legal guardians must also present valid court documentation of guardianship.
  • For the Child (Under 12): A valid birth certificate or passport. Note: School IDs, insurance cards, and social security cards are not accepted. Master Pierce provides free notarization services at the studio for minor release forms.

Absolutely not. Master Pierce strictly uses single-use sterile hollow needles and follows rigid Association of Professional Piercers (APP) standards. Piercing guns cannot be sterilized in an autoclave and rely on blunt force to jam jewelry through the earlobe, which causes unnecessary tissue trauma. Needles ensure extreme precision and a much gentler experience for your child.

Clean the front and back of the piercing 2 to 4 times a day using a packaged, sterile saline wound wash with no additives (like NeilMed Piercing Aftercare). Always thoroughly wash your hands before touching your child’s ears. Spray the saline solution to flush away debris, then gently pat the area completely dry with a clean, disposable paper towel.

No. Never use alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, or harsh soaps, as they dry out the skin and severely delay healing. Additionally, do not use Q-tips or cotton balls. Cotton fibers easily shred, wrap tightly around the jewelry, trap bacteria, and cause painful irritation bumps.

No, never twist or rotate the jewelry. Rotating jewelry tears the fragile new skin cells healing inside the earlobe, forces bacteria into the open wound, and dramatically delays the healing process. The jewelry should remain completely still.

No. You must completely avoid submerging the new piercing in any bodies of water—including swimming pools, the ocean, lakes, water parks, and bathtubs—during the initial healing phase. Standing water harbors harmful bacteria that significantly increase the risk of infection. Stick to showers only.

When we first pierce your child’s ears, we install a slightly longer implant-grade post to safely allow room for initial swelling. After 2 to 6 weeks, you must bring your child back to Master Pierce for a quick, walk-in checkup to “downsize” (shorten) the post. Leaving a long post in for too long causes the jewelry to snag easily and can permanently shift the angle of the piercing.

  • Normal: Localized swelling, minor redness, mild tenderness, and a clear or pale yellow fluid that dries into hard “crusties” (this is just dried plasma). Earlobe piercings take 3 to 5 months to fully heal.
  • Infected: Thick green or foul-smelling pus, extreme swelling that starts to swallow or trap the jewelry, intense throbbing heat, redness spreading outward away from the hole, or your child running a fever.

If you suspect an infection, do not remove the jewelry. Taking the jewelry out causes the hole to close instantly, trapping the infection inside the tissue and potentially causing an abscess. Keep the jewelry in so the wound can continue to drain safely, and consult a doctor or your piercer immediately.

2026 Piercing & Jewelry Trends

We accept cash, credit cards, debit cards, digital wallets.

The dominant style is Sculptural Stacks—also known as architectural curation. Instead of crowding as many random piercings onto the ear as possible, the focus has shifted to precise, intentional placement that honors the ear’s natural anatomy. People are choosing one “hero” placement (like a statement conch or daith) and framing it with minimal, flowing jewelry that traces the ear’s natural curves.

  • The Hidden Helix: This incredibly popular placement tucks a piercing just beneath the upper fold of the ear, allowing delicate charms or dangles to drape down as if they are floating.
  • The Flat Piercing: Located on the flat upper cartilage below the outer rim, this area is being treated like a canvas for larger statement pieces, textured gold studs, and champagne diamonds.
  • Mid-Helix Piercings: Sitting perfectly between the traditional high cartilage and the upper lobe, this minimalist placement is highly sought after because it accommodates both small hoops and studs beautifully.

Yes, but with a highly refined, “quiet luxury” twist.

  • Vertical Labrets & High Nostrils: These are the top choices for facial placements, heavily emphasizing facial symmetry and clean lines.
  • Floating Navel Piercings: The classic ’90s belly button piercing has been modernized. Instead of heavy dangling jewelry, people are opting for minimalist “floating” bars where a single gem rests flat inside the navel.
  • Mixed Metals: The old rule of matching all your jewelry is gone. Curating a look by intentionally mixing yellow gold, titanium, white gold, and textures is highly encouraged.
  • Unisex & Darker Metals: Sleek, gender-neutral silhouettes and high-polish black-toned metals are a massive movement for an edgier, modern aesthetic.
  • Micro-Hoops: Massive hoops are taking a backseat to ultra-snug micro-hoops and low-profile huggies that stack seamlessly together without crowding the ear.

High fashion has officially merged with safety. Clients are overwhelmingly demanding biocompatible materials for both new and healed piercings to prevent allergic reactions. The gold standards for 2026 are ASTM-F136 implant-grade titanium and nickel-free 14k solid gold, paired with threadless or internally threaded designs.

Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP)

We accept cash, credit cards, debit cards, digital wallets.

Scalp Micropigmentation is a non-surgical, permanent makeup treatment designed to replicate the appearance of real hair follicles. Using a specialized cosmetic tattooing technique, specialized micro-needles deposit pigment into the upper layer of the dermis to mimic the look of a clean shave, fill in thinning areas, or camouflage scars on the scalp.

  • SMP is a versatile, unisex hair loss solution. It is highly beneficial for:
  • Male and Female Pattern Baldness: It creates the illusion of density in thinning areas or a full, closely shaved head for completely bald clients.
  • Alopecia Patients: It can replicate a full scalp of hair follicles for those experiencing total hair loss.
  • Scar Camouflage: It effectively hides scarring on the scalp from trauma, surgery, or prior hair transplant procedures (like FUT or FUE scars).

While both involve pigment in the skin, SMP uses fundamentally different equipment and techniques:

  • Depth: SMP pigments are placed much shallower in the skin than traditional tattoo ink, preventing the pigment from spreading out or blurring.
  • Pigment Formulations: Traditional tattoo inks can break down into blue or green undertones over time. SMP utilizes specialized, medical-grade carbon-based pigments that only fade into lighter shades of the original color.
  • Needle Size: SMP needles are incredibly tiny micro-needles designed specifically to mimic the exact size and round shape of a real human hair follicle.

Most clients describe the sensation as a mild, repetitive pressure or a light scratching feeling. Because the needles do not penetrate as deeply as traditional body tattoos, it is significantly less painful. A topical numbing agent can also be applied to maximize comfort during the session.

A typical SMP treatment requires 2 to 4 sessions to achieve a completely realistic, layered result. Each session is spaced roughly 1 to 2 weeks apart. This gradual process allows the artist to carefully build up pigment density, blend the color seamlessly with your natural hair, and monitor how your skin retains the pigment.

SMP is a long-lasting, semi-permanent treatment. The results typically look crisp and fresh for 3 to 5 years. Over time, natural skin exfoliation and UV exposure will cause the pigment to lighten. A quick, single-session touch-up is usually all that is needed to restore the original depth and density.

To ensure the pigments heal sharply without fading prematurely, you must strictly follow these immediate rules for the first 4 to 7 days:

  • No Washing: Keep your scalp completely dry—do not wash, scrub, or wet your head.
  • No Heavy Sweating: Avoid intense workouts, saunas, and hot environments that trigger sweating.
  • No Sun Exposure: Keep your scalp out of direct sunlight and avoid wearing tight hats that rub against the fresh pigment.
