Since today is Father’s Day, I decided to take a minute to talk to just the dads out there. First, thank you for all that you do for your children. As a father myself, I know how hard it is. We worry about our children’s safety for so many things and now we have to worry about their piercings. Here’s some advice that will go a long way towards making sure your children’s piercings come out straight and healthy. And it will help you bond with them too.
First, if you have a son or daughter interested in getting pierced, be proactive and do the research to find the best place for them to go. Make sure the shop uses implant grade steel or titanium and the piercer has lots if experience. Check out the shop ahead of time. Some places are very misleading from their websites. Make sure the staff cares about their customers. Ask what is required for parental consent, each state is slightly different but most require you and your kid have an ID. Find out the age requirements and prices. Ask any of those questions you have wondered about. Now that you are better educated, it’s time to talk with your child.
Communication is important in any relationship. Talk with your son or daughter about what you found out. Ask what they want pierced. They will find a way to get pierced with or without you so it’s important to take control of the situation to ensure their safety. You can do fun motivational agreements like, “Get an A in Math and you can get your nose pierced”. You can offer a piercing as a birthday gift. There are many ways to go about this. The important part is to have fun and know you are being a responsible parent.
As always, if you have any questions or need studio recommendations, you can message us here on Facebook or our website, www.MasterPierce.com. Now get out there and start the research and have fun bonding with your child.
